Unlimited Sonic Use presents:
TRAUM (Members of ZU, Lento, ZEUS, Fuzz Orchestra) - ITL | Subsound Records
https://traumofficial.bandcamp.com
Genre: Experimental Space Kraut Psychedelic
FFO: Can, Amon Düll II, Hawkwind
TRAUM is the sharing of the same horizon of interpretation of existence and music by four musicians:
Luca Ciffo (Fuzz Orchestra, II Lungo Addio)
Lorenzo Stecconi (Lento)
Luca T. Mai (Zu)
Paolo Mongardi (Fuzz Orchestra/Zeus)
Traum (”Dream” in German) creates and shapes its music starting from the dream dimension. Whether it is an illusory, lucid, interdimensional or induced dream, the music bears witness to it and describes its various aspects, keeping the rudder to starboard like anew Ulysses returning home.
Their first self-titled album is the result of almost a month living together in an old farmhouse playing, improvising and sharing their lives and their musical and cultural passions.
Through a state of presence and mutual listening, the eight tracks that made up this multifaceted album were born: the music takes different shapes, conducting the listener into a journey within himself.
The record is the spontaneous fruit of an urge to communicate and musically explore today’s reality, both internally and externally.
Toby Driver (Kayo Dot) - USA | Independent
https://kayodot.bandcamp.com/.../raven-i-know-that-you...
Genre: Avantgarde Experimental Chamber Music
FFO: Kayo Dot, Maudlin of the Well, Extra Life
Toby Driver is a composer and multi-instrumentalist who navigates between genres. He is “a tirelessly inventive recording artist” (PopMatters) with a prolific career of over 20 years. His work - impressionistic, architectural and emotionally vulnerable––has been described as “unlike any other” (The Quietus), displaying “A greater vision of how music can evoke feelings both grandiose and devastatingly intimate.” (Vice/Noisey). His multifarious projects share a sensitive and detail-oriented composition ranging from the metaphysical to the avant-garde, and an insatiable search for the new: there's “absolutely nothing to compare it against.” (Echoes and Dust)
In recent years, Driver has been exploring the singer-songwriter format with a trilogy of albums, Madonnawhore (2016, The Flenser), They Are the Shield (2018), and a new one: Raven, I Know That You Can Give Me Anything (2024), a collection of gothic, minimalist ballads drenched in layers of reverb and deep melancholy, bringing a hauntingly intimate sound. In collaboration with violinist Timba Harris (Igorrr, Secret Chiefs 3), keyboardist Ana Cristina Pérez, and drummer Sam Gutterman (Kayo Dot, Forlesen), Driver's ballads have made a strong and immediate statement about this music's exalted place in his diverse body of work.
