At times poppy and polished, and other times, melancholic, Indigo Waves runs the gamut of saccharine, ’80s lo-fi nostalgia and dream pop. The dichotomy between the nostalgic dreaminess and the catchy pop elements sets each track of Indigo Waves apart from the rest. Don’t be surprised if you catch an ear worm or two. Indigo Waves has been playing live shows together since 2017. Their live performance is chaotic and engaging and a bit silly. In a recent local music award by a member of Provo Music Magazine, they were nominated for “Front Man Who’d Make The Best Cult Leader.” No matter how that sits with you, you can be sure you’ll see a memorabile performance. Indigo Waves has been a staple of indie music blogs and channels since they first started releasing singles for their debut album in 2019. With placements on channels like BIRP, David Dean Burkhart & The Daily Dose Indigo Waves grew to have a large online following, surpassing the majority of related Utah acts. This led to them being in the top 0.5% of all artists on Spotify.
