La Pestilencia is Colombia's most iconic punk and hardcore band. Founded in 1986 by Dilson Díaz, the band has been a relentless critical voice, standing against a Colombia plagued by car bombs, contract killings, drug trafficking, and a corrupt, war-driven political class—realities that persist to this day.
 
With seven studio albums, La Pestilencia has built a legacy that cements its place as a Latin American punk-hardcore reference. From their debut album La muerte... un compromiso de todos (1989) to milestones like El Amarillista (1997), Balística (2001), and Productos Desaparecidos (2001), the band has evolved, incorporating core and metal influences while maintaining their raw, rebellious essence
 
In 2025, La Pestilencia will release their eighth and final album, marking the end of a sonic journey that has chronicled a country scarred by violence and complacency.
 
Four decades of music as a form of resistance, a way to keep memory alive, and perhaps, a constant reminder of dissatisfaction... because in Colombia, going with the flow has always been easier than going against it.
